Our Pastor Dr. E.L. Seamster, Sr. ThD. has served Calvary Baptist Church for 40+ years as it’s Pastor and leader. Saved one night forty-four years ago on the road in Halifax, Virginia, Preacher Seamster will tell you that his life has never been the same. Called by the Holy Spirit on that precious night, he recognized himself as a sinner, lost and headed to hell, in need of a Savior. Asking Jesus Christ to come into his heart, he accepted Christ and has never looked back at that old life. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV) It wasn’t long thereafter that he received the call to preach, attended Bible College, and has been preaching the gospel, the good news about Jesus, all over the country with the same passion and zeal that possessed him at the time of the call.
I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
1 Timothy 1:12-18 KJV
Preacher will tell anyone that “My life is proof that the grace of God is sufficient.”
Our Preacher is supported by his wife, Dianne Seamster, through all life’s trials and triumphs and also in the ladies’ ministry at Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Dianne leads the ladies at Calvary, daily, by example, in her walk with the Lord, and, monthly, in a lavish banquet held the first Monday night of every month. (See Ladies’ Meetings for more information concerning these events and special stipulations.)
